Canine Rodent Detection Services, Inc plays a vital role in the establishment and maintenance of a “Zero Rodent Tolerance” policy in the food supply chain. Conventional pest control services and exterminators can mitigate rodents that leave the nest or reservoir and move about the facility. They can’t identify and eliminate nests, breeding colonies or individuals contained inside pallets of product. These rodents have no need to leave their food supply and nesting ground.
CaRDS uses highly trained rodent detection dogs that are able to indicate the presence of rodents hidden deep within pallets of product. We then confirm the dog’s alert with the use of FLIR thermal imaging equipment to eliminate the unnecessary movement and break down of product. This ability enables us to perform periodic inspections that drastically reduce the need for conventional extermination measures and their associated costs.
To be really successful, a facility has to locate and eliminate the source of rodent infestations. CaRDS has partnered with the United States Department of Agriculture to provide our clients with DNA analytics that will identify the original source of the rodents whether across the street or around the world. That can and does lead to a rodent free environment throughout the supply chain.
